“Peppermint Candy” is one of South Korea’s finest dramas. Writer, director Lee Chang-dong might not be quite as well known and admired in the U.S. as the likes of Bong Joon-ho and Park Chan-wook, but he is undoubtedly a filmmaker that deserves adulation worldwide. This video was originally intended as a normal review but ended up sort of being a prototype in my Essential Cinema series.
